Doc build: use XML-compliant IDs

Doc builds that depend on an intermediate XML transform (epub, PDF) also
need to use IDs that comply to the XML standard. In this case, numbers
are not valid NameStartChars:
http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml/#NT-NameStartChar
